Dr. Zampell’s practice serves patients in and around Torrance and Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, offering patients a wide range of reconstructive solutions not easily found elsewhere.
Dr. Zampell graduated with highest honors from Emory University in 2002 followed by Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2006. She then went on to pursue her residency in plastic surgery at NYU Medical Center in New York City, as well as a demanding fellowship in the art of microsurgery at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). During her training, she participated heavily in basic science and clinical research, completing a three-year research fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, focused on understanding lymphedema pathophysiology. Her elite training and ongoing interests in clinical research and microsurgical innovation continue to shape her practice.
Dr. Zampell worked closely with Dr. Robert Allen at the Ochsner Medical Center in Louisiana, absorbing his expertise in autologous flap surgery techniques. Dr. Allen first described the DIEP flap, the SIEA flap, IGAP, LTP flap and many other options for breast cancer survivors to regain their dignity and appearance through the use of their own tissue.
