This patient was diagnosed with left breast cancer and desired immediate reconstruction using her own tissue. She had loose abdominal skin from prior pregnancies and wished to improve the appearance of her lower abdomen while also restoring her breast to native volume. To do this, both the deep circumflex iliac artery, perforating the external oblique muscle, and the deep inferior epigastric artery perforating (DIEP) vessel was used to carry enough tissue on each half of the lower abdomen to restore the breast volume. Pre-operating imaging along with knowledge of each woman’s unique anatomy allows for this tailored form of breast reconstruction.
