This patient underwent bilateral nipple sparing mastectomy and immediate reconstruction with tissue taken from her outer thigh, known as the lateral thigh perforator (LTP) flap. While taking tissue from the outer thigh is not often available for every patient, in some cases, body fat is preferentially distributed in this region and ideal for use in breast reconstruction. While a scar is placed on the outer thigh, the “saddlebag” area of the outer thigh can be eliminated to improve the thigh contour.
